Uncle Harry’s Desk Drawer

You’ll have to use your wits, your eyes, your sense of humor, and possibly a magnifying glass to solve this week’s puzzle. Invite your bank friends to help—you’ll need it!

Your dear Uncle Harry has loaned you his summer place. In fact, he’s emptied the junk drawer of his desk to give you a brain teaser, with a special incentive.

But he isn’t making it easy.

In fact, the old rascal has written your clues in the form of a bad poem. (Uncle Harry was a banker and bank director, not a poet.)

Watch out for puns, double meanings, and just plain headscratchers.

This puzzle was inspired by Scholastic’s “I Spy” puzzles by Jean Marzollo and Walter Wick and similar puzzles in Highlights for Children.

The Solution we’ve posted comes from puzzle winner John Gregg of Morton Community Bank. He came closest in solving this diabolical puzzle. He missed one or two items we had, but also interpreted the clue poem a bit differently, which accounted for that. See if you agree with John, and see what you can spot in this “SpotMe” puzzle.
