Solution delivers more insight into profitability, lending, and deposit gathering.
BIG Metrics provides competitive advantage to community banks
SAN FRANCISCO, April 23, 2008 –Community bankers in the U.S. can gain a new level of understanding about their own operations and their competitors’ through a solution announced today from Banc Investment Group (BIG), the capital markets subsidiary of Pacific Coast Bankers’ Bancshares. Designed for banks, BIG Metrics provides in-depth peer group and market comparison that identifies trends in profitability, loan growth, market share, deposit growth, margins, delinquencies and charge-offs for specific bank entities or several peer groups. “This online application goes beyond the standard peer group comparisons. BIG Metrics gives bankers access to a variety of BIG’s proprietary databases in order to help bankers make more informed decisions about marketing, strategy, performance, and compensation,” said Chris Nichols, CEO of Banc Investment Group. “BIG Metrics delivers sophisticated analysis cost-effectively so bankers can stay a step ahead.” An online interactive platform, BIG Metrics produces more than 20 reports utilizing 200 metrics. Reports can be generated using quarterly or annual data for peer group analyses, and they can be configured to display data nationally, by state, asset-band, zip code, as well as for top performing banks. “BIG Metrics provides a unique visual depiction of bank performance to help identify positive or negative trends,” said Ramu Singh, the Managing Director of the Product for BIG. “The Strengths and Opportunities Report in BIG Metrics is powerful because it allows bankers to spot areas that present challenges or opportunities from competitors. Included in BIG Metrics are the following capabilities: • Deposit Distribution maps provide branch-level deposit information for any bank in any state. Bankers can drill down from the national level to state, county and zip code area using a map-based interface. Demographic information is displayed at the county level. Deposits distribution maps provide market share assessments in existing markets and potential penetration in new markets. Demographic information includes population, per capita income, household income, number of households, trade per capita, and median house value. • Performance Rankings show banks ranked by more than 20 measures. Institutions can be viewed nationwide, by state or three-digit zip code. Performance Rankings are useful in isolating top-performing peers by different measures so bankers can compare their own performance to the top performers. • Delinquencies Map allows banks to view delinquent loans by loan type that are 90 days or more past due or in non-accrual status. Information is aggregated at state level by bank domicile. Banks can also view the most recent charge-offs. The different loan types are Construction, CRE, Multi-family, Single-family, Home Equity, C&I, Consumer and Credit cards. BIG also develops Customized Dashboards that provide bank-specific weekly or monthly detailed reports. These online reports allow banks to monitor loan production, deposit growth and profitability at the branch as well as officer level. Reports can be easily printed for inclusion in Board and ALCO packages. Several pre-designed report packages are available. For more information about BIG Metrics, call Ramu Singh at 888-777-8588.
