I just finished reading Ed O'Leary's article "Lending Ethics Beyond the Loan Policy" and have to say that it was one of the best written, most thought provoking pieces I have read in the ABA Banking Journal or any other banking publication in my 27 years in the industry. I wish its concepts could be incorporated into all ABA loan training! As history has demonstrated, whenever we exclusively hold "maximum profit" as the highest good and ignore what is good for our communities, we extend an open invitation to additional government regulation. - Brent Warren
