			<description>Bill, what I'm hearing and reading from a variety of sources is that our industry can do a better job on the due diligence portion of our credit extensions.  In the workout context, we are often locked into the original logic of the deal and don't always start from scratch on the both the current (new) sense of the situation and the valuation of collateral.  On new underwriting on performing credit, we often aren't thorough enough and find ourselves shooting from the hip.  Witness the way we can get the Character component so wrong at times.  It's probably not much more complicated a solution than reemphasizing the basics and not assuming we know what we really don't know.   Ed - Ed OLeary</description>

			<description>Good thoughts Ed.  We seemed to have more trouble with our intermediate lending staff (10-20 years) than our junior staff - junior staff was ready to listen and learn - the others thought they knew everything and if they knew the borrower the borrower MUST be gold, forget about cash flow, etc. - Bill Wantuck</description>
