Craig, you are correct. Banking Schools, in order to maintain their relevance, need to re-tool their curriculum to include technology in a big way! Furthermore, they also need to think outside the"On Campus" box and expand their respective programs into the distributed learning space to take advantage of the entire year.
WELL SAID! Having been responsible for launching technology in the late '80s-early '90's, I watch then and now how so many bank managers regard technology as a necessary evil. They hide from the realities of what it takes to implement and support technology. Many of them can tell war stories of how their tech department is slow and always over budget, yet expect for everything to work 100% of the time, and come screaming when they can't complete some simple task in a spreadsheet or email. I also experienced mangers who wanted some technology deployed, but turned a deaf ear to risks, unplanned needs from the technology (training, support, equipment requirements, etc., etc.), timelines and expectations, only to suffer their wrath when deliveries could not be met. I often thought the writer of the comic strip "Dilbert" had bugged my office! - Craig Wheeler
