New managed security services offered E-mail

Trustwave unveiled new managed security services, including a new managed Web Application Firewall and a new managed Security Information and Event Management solution. The company also offers managed encryption, network access control, two-factor authentication, and unified threat management.

Trustwave also announced the SpiderLabs Threat Intelligence Program, a new subscription-based managed security service that gives organizations access to the latest research, insight and analysis from Trustwave SpiderLabs. The new managed security services and the Threat Intelligence Program are designed to give organizations the tools and intelligence they need to protect themselves from cyber security threats and data loss.

“Offering Web Application Firewall, SIEM, and Threat Intelligence as managed security services gives our customers advanced protection that is not available from most MSS providers,” says Patrick McGregor, senior vice president, product management, Trustwave. “Trustwave provides these benefits for customers that might not have time or resources to deploy these higher-value solutions themselves.

New and enhanced services include:

•    Trustwave Managed Web Application Firewall: Trustwave’s Managed Web Application Firewall provides Web applications with real-time, continuous security and protection from vulnerabilities and data loss so the applications can operate as intended and expected. This managed security service offering sends events from a Trustwave Web application firewall appliance to Trustwave Security Operations Centers where security experts use Trustwave SIEM technology to correlate and analyze application-specific events to generate alerts. This deep analysis is used to detect application attacks so organizations need only be involved in alerts that need their attention.

•    Trustwave Managed SIEM Appliance: Trustwave has also enhanced its Managed SIEM Appliance. The Trustwave Managed SIEM Appliance is a managed on-premise event collector, which now transmits events to Trustwave Security Operations Centers for analysis, reporting and archiving. Trustwave analyzes security events on behalf of customers and helps them take action to reduce security risks. As a result, customers can more easily identify and mitigate security threats without having to manage the SIEM in-house.

•    SpiderLabs Threat Intelligence Program: The SpiderLabs Threat Intelligence Program is a new subscription-based service that gives organizations access to the latest research, insight and analysis from Trustwave SpiderLabs, the advanced security team within Trustwave focused on penetration testing, incident response, application security and security research. Delivered as a daily feed accompanied by quarterly summaries, SpiderLabs Threat Intelligence provides timely security information to help organizations better understand the changing threat landscape in areas including mobile security, targeted malware, infrastructure, cloud and virtualized computing. As a result, organizations can bolster their security intelligence and improve their ability to detect threats and prevent data breaches.

"One of the scarcest commodities is a security professional who can analyze a challenging threat landscape and who has experience with a wide variety of real-world situations," says Wendy Nather, research director of enterprise security at 451 Research.
